Alfa Laval acquires new breakthrough mixing technology

Alfa Laval has a vision to be seen as a "clear number one" in serving the Food and Pharma industries with Tank Equipment components and solutions. By acquiring a new innovative and patented mixing technology from the company ISO-MIX, Alfa Laval adds another important brick to reach this vision.

The technology is based on one of Alfa Laval’s Tank Equipment products Toftejorg Rotary Jet Head which has been technically modified to handle mixing of liquids, gas and powder and as an added value it can also be used for tank cleaning.

From a sales process perspective these ISO-MIX products fit well into our existing portfolio of tank agitators and tank cleaning equipment since they all are included in technical application sales that recquire tank process and application competence.

With the acquisition of this innovative "Blue Ocean" technology we add another important brick to our Tank Equipment vision and we are hereby leading the way to further optimize our customers' tank processes", says Ole Petersen, General Manager, Sanitary Equipment.

The company ISO-MIX was founded in 2003 and has had an interesting development and growth penetrating the mixing market with this new and patented technology. Alfa Laval now acquires parts of this company including their technology, their patent, their employees, their customer references, their channels and their equipment, machines and parts.

ISO-MIX has mainly focused on industries within Food and Beverage applications and has customers like Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola and Carlsberg. Initially for Alfa Laval the focus will be to secure existing customers and grow the business further within existing applications. There are however high potential within other market segments which needs to be explored.

Together with the former ISO-MIX employees, who now are integrated in the Alfa Laval Tank Equipment organization, we will begin to implement this technology into our Tank Equipment portfolio”, says René Elgaard, Market Unit Manager Tank Equipment, Sanitary Equipment.

This new breakthrough mixing technology will be launched selectively country by country as the integration process move ahead. All sales companies will be informed when the launch plan is ready.” says Ole Terkelsen, Global Business Manager, Market Units, Sanitary Equipment.
